Ramblings – 2017 Gaming Preview

ramblings

Hey everybody!  It’s that time again.  Ramblings time.  And this week I’m going to give a little preview of what 2017 has in store for video games.  Now of course, any game I talk about could be delayed out of the current release window, or indeed out of 2017 entirely.  So this isn’t a sure deal by any means.  With that said, let’s get on with it. Ramblings – Random (12/28/16)

ramblings

Hey guys, welcome back!  It’s Ramblings time again.  And yes, it’s another “Random” column this week.  I hope you all have had a good holiday season so far.  The new year is upon us!  And hopefully 2016 doesn’t kill off any more legends before it ends.  This has been a rough year, indeed.  Oy.  Anyway, let’s get on to the meat of the article. Brandon talks Dragon Ball

Hey guys.  Welcome back!  This week is a special edition of Ramblings.  So special I didn’t include Ramblings in the title, or my regular intro image.  I really need one for Ramblings columns that aren’t on video games.  Anyway, I recently finished watching the first arc of Dragon Ball Super, which I watched on Crunchyroll, and I wanted to take a look back at Dragon Ball and DBZ from my own perspective, as well as talk about the first arc of Super.  I’m certainly not Danny, aka Mr. Geekdom101 himself, but that’s what makes this interesting, isn’t it?  It’s an outsider’s take on Dragon Ball.  So here we go! Ramblings – PlayStation Experience

ramblings

Hey guys.  I’m back, as promised.  A few hours late, but here nonetheless, to give my thoughts on the PlayStation Experience keynote address.  There was a big focus on games, as expected.  Not much filler.  The show ran a little over an hour, but had quite a few announcements and game trailers and whatnot.  But you can get those trailers anywhere by now.  I’m here to say what I think of it all.  Let’s go! Ramblings – Random (11/23/2016)

ramblings

Hey guys.  Welcome back!  Sorry for the few weeks without any Ramblings.  You’d think I’d have a lot to talk about with the amount of games coming out.  Well, I’ve only had the chance to play two so far.  One of which is World of Final Fantasy, and I want to beat that before I give a full review.  The other is Dishonored 2, and that kind of fizzled out before it got started, at least for me.  So I’ll be giving brief thoughts of those, but I’ll be starting with a little Crunchyroll update.  Let’s-a Go! Ramblings – WCW Nitro Live

ramblings

Hey everyone!  Welcome back!  This week on Ramblings, I’m going to be doing something a bit different.  I’m going to be writing something a bit shorter than usual, but it’s going to be on a canceled video game.  A game that never was called WCW Nitro Live.  I’m going to be breaking a couple of my own rules here by using images with watermarks, as well as linking to another site’s article.  This is because, as far as I know, the article is the only preview ever written for WCW Nitro Live.  Let’s get to it. Ramblings – Arcade Archives

ramblings

Hey guys, welcome back!  This week on Ramblings, I’m taking a look at three entries in the Arcade Archives series on the PlayStation 4.  What is Arcade Archives?  Well, a company called Hamster has been taking old arcade games from various companies and porting them to the PS4.  Or, at the very least, emulating them with a custom emulator (likely a modified MAME).  I covered an older Arcade Archives game a while back (Super Dodge Ball), and it was pretty good.  This time around I have Contra, Double Dragon, and Double Dragon II: The Revenge for you guys.  Many of you have no doubt played the NES versions of these games, but I’m here to cover the arcade versions.  So let’s get on with it. Ramblings – Crunchyroll

ramblings

Hey everybody!  Welcome back!  It’s that time of the week again.  Time for me to ramble.  This week on Ramblings, I’d like to take a look at my new favorite website, Crunchyroll.  Many of you may already know of Crunchyroll, but there are probably quite a few of you out there who haven’t.  It’s a legal streaming website for anime and live-action Japanese drama, as well as some manga.  I had known about it for a couple years now, thanks to its presence in the PlayStation Store, but I never gave it a serious look until last month because I’ve never been really big into anime.  That said, how does Crunchyroll fare for an anime novice like myself?
