Hey everyone! Welcome back! This week on Ramblings, I’m going to be doing something a bit different. I’m going to be writing something a bit shorter than usual, but it’s going to be on a canceled video game. A game that never was called WCW Nitro Live. I’m going to be breaking a couple of my own rules here by using images with watermarks, as well as linking to another site’s article. This is because, as far as I know, the article is the only preview ever written for WCW Nitro Live. Let’s get to it. More
Hey guys. Welcome back! I’m sick with a cold. 😀 And I’m going to be reviewing WWE 2K17 this week. How different is it from previous versions? Read on to find out. Oh, I’m also going to be sharing a couple amusing glitches I encountered, in video form. Look forward to those. More
Hey guys, welcome back! This week on Ramblings, I’m taking a look at three entries in the Arcade Archives series on the PlayStation 4. What is Arcade Archives? Well, a company called Hamster has been taking old arcade games from various companies and porting them to the PS4. Or, at the very least, emulating them with a custom emulator (likely a modified MAME). I covered an older Arcade Archives game a while back (Super Dodge Ball), and it was pretty good. This time around I have Contra, Double Dragon, and Double Dragon II: The Revenge for you guys. Many of you have no doubt played the NES versions of these games, but I’m here to cover the arcade versions. So let’s get on with it. More
Hey everybody! Welcome back! It’s that time of the week again. Time for me to ramble. This week on Ramblings, I’d like to take a look at my new favorite website, Crunchyroll. Many of you may already know of Crunchyroll, but there are probably quite a few of you out there who haven’t. It’s a legal streaming website for anime and live-action Japanese drama, as well as some manga. I had known about it for a couple years now, thanks to its presence in the PlayStation Store, but I never gave it a serious look until last month because I’ve never been really big into anime. That said, how does Crunchyroll fare for an anime novice like myself? More
Hey everybody! It’s Ramblings time! And this week I’m finally able to deliver that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided review. It’s been a few weeks in the making, so I hope it does the game justice. More
Hey guys, welcome back! I wasn’t sure what I was going to write about this week, but then late Saturday night I decided to check out the website of The Megas. Now, if you’re a longtime reader of my column, you know I discussed The Megas before. They’re a group that did lyrical covers of Mega Man music. Normally I don’t like it when people put lyrics to instrumental video game music, but The Megas did it so damn well that I just love their three major albums. But now they’re branching out into Castlevania music with their newest album, The Belmonts. Only three tracks are on the album, and it’s no doubt a teaser to a larger project. So how is this new excursion of theirs? Let’s find out. More
Hey guys, welcome back! It’s Ramblings time. A little late today, I know. I also apologize for the two week absence. I hope to explain all that in this week’s update. I had hoped to do something other than another “Updates” column, but circumstances worked against me. Sorry all. But let’s get on with the updates. More
Hey guys. I was about to skip this week due to not having anything to write about, but then, during a bout of insomnia, I came up with a couple topics I wanted to touch upon. One of which is a brand new game announcement from Gamescom. Enough stalling, let’s get on with it. More
Hey there everyone. Welcome back! This week I’m going to be taking a quick look at Mega Man Legacy Collection. This collection has the first six Mega Man games from the NES. So, let’s get right to it. More
Hey guys. I didn’t want to keep missing weeks, so I wanted to do a quick column on Overwatch’s Summer Games update which was sent out yesterday. But first, a bit of housekeeping. As I mentioned on my Twitter, I won’t be doing No Man’s Sky like I previously planned. No, it isn’t because of the leaks, but rather because I just don’t like controlling space craft in video games. I don’t know why I allowed myself to get hyped by No Man’s Sky, when most of the game is flying through space. But I did, and I’m glad I came to my senses before the game came out.
So now GameFly sent me the Mega Man Legacy Collection for PS4, so I’ll be giving that a go hopefully next week. LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens may be after that. I don’t know for sure. No idea how much space ship battles are in that one. The trailer for the game on GameFly shows some space ship battles, and that worries me. But I liked the first LEGO Star Wars game, and I have high hopes for the latest one.
Anyway, Overwatch. More
