Ramblings – July 20, 2016 Update

ramblings

Hey guys, I’m back!  Sorry for the two week absence.  I’ve been dealing with some personal issues that have gotten worse over the past several weeks and I’m trying to get that stuff sorted out, but I didn’t want to go the whole month without something.  I hate to do another Ramblings Update post, but I don’t have any other ideas at the moment.  Some stuff I’m going to talk about will be new, though, so there’s that, at least.  Let’s get on with it. Ramblings – Mighty No. 9

ramblings

Hey guys, welcome back!  Last week Mighty No. 9 was finally released.  Almost three years in development and three delays, it’s finally here.  I was a backer of the Kickstarter, and I covered the backer-only trial last September.  Now I have the final game on the PS4, and I played through the main story mode.  Was it worth the wait? Ramblings – Best of E3 2016

ramblings

Hey guys.  I know I was supposed to review Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst this week.  Well, I got the game from Gamefly, I played it a bit, and I just didn’t feel like playing it any more.  It just didn’t click with me.  I can’t put my finger on it, but I really have nothing good or bad to say about it.  It’s just, meh.  So instead, I thought I’d write out my top ten games of E3 2016.  A list of the games that were either announced or shown in press conferences or on gaming media sites during the event that have me really anticipating them.  So without further ado, onto the games. Ramblings – E3 2016 Day 2 – MS, Ubi, & Sony

ramblings

Welcome back everyone!  It’s day two of E3 2016 press conferences.  Today we had Microsoft, Ubisoft, and Sony.  Whew.  That’s a lot.  Remember these are my personal thoughts on the content of each show.  So my take may be very different from yours.  I suggest you watch the shows yourself on Twitch or YouTube when the VODs go up if you didn’t watch them live.  Anyway, let’s get started! Ramblings – E3 2016 Preview

ramblings

Greetings all, it’s that time of year again.  E3 2016 kicks off this coming Sunday!  Well, the show floor doesn’t open until Tuesday, but the press conferences start on Sunday, and that’s what really counts.  Those are where the good stuff is announced.  So for this week’s column, I wanted to write up a little preview of E3 2016, including what I expect to see announced and what I hope to see announced.  Ready?  Let’s go! Ramblings – June 1, 2016 Updates

ramblings

Back in March, when I didn’t have anything to really write about, I did an “Updates” column.  Since I find myself in a similar situation now, I figure I’d make this a semi-regular part of Ramblings.  I have some things I wanted to say about Overwatch, and a few other topics.  If you’ve been following me on Twitter, you know I’ve mentioned Overwatch more than a few times.  But I swear, that’s not all I’m going to talk about today.  So let’s get on with it. Ramblings – Paper Mario

ramblings

Hey guys, welcome back to Geekdom101.com!  Last week on Twitter (@GeekdomBrandon) I did a poll to decide what this week’s Ramblings column would be about.  The choices were Super Mario World, and Paper Mario.  There were only four votes, but Paper Mario won out.  I may do this again for more future columns, so be sure to follow if you want your voice heard.  The people have spoken, so here’s Paper Mario! Ramblings – Overwatch

ramblings

Hey everybody!  I’m back with some video game goodness.  The Overwatch open beta just concluded yesterday, and I gave it a shot on the PS4.  Now, they say the beta has everything the full game will have on launch, which is really odd for a beta, but it sort of lets me review the full game for free, and a couple weeks early, so yay, I guess.  So, how is Overwatch?
