Review – The Avengers (2012)

With Adolfo being swamped at work for the week, he actually wrote me up and asked if I still wanted to do my Avengers review, like I suggested in the latest episode of FORCED PERSPECTIVE. Having realized that I still haven’t been able to get to my promised-review for The Five Year Engagement, I said, “sure, why not.” And, alas, here I am.

Haven’t seen The Avengers yet? Want the scoop on the biggest film of the year (so far)? Then look no further as I, SportsGuy515, give you the full Avengers-experience in this review. Featuring a star-studded cast which includes Robert Downey, Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as The Incredible Hulk, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, directed by Joss Whedon, this is The Avengers.

DVD of the Day: Kill Bill Vol. 1 (2003)

For those of you following these posts… I’m doing a new format.  DVD of the Day will be more regular (as in, everyday, hopefully), but shorter.  They’ll be very brief reviews that essentially tell you:  Watch this today! More

Review – Chronicle (2012)

Quick story: After the complete FAIL that was Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace 3D, I felt like my day was ruined. However, I had to pick up some stuff on my way home…and the temptation was too great…that’s right, folks, I ended up buying Drive on Blu-ray; single-handedly saved my day.

ANYWAY (that was some tangent, huh?), a film I had the very distinct pleasure of seeing last Tuesday night was Chronicle. And I must say, I have quite a few things to say about this one. Click on the link below to read my full review.

Review – The Grey (2012)

This weekend is going to be one of my ultra-rare “3 reviews in 3 days” weekends (I think the last time I pulled one of these off was last summer, if my memory serves me correctly). Mainly, I’m doing this for two reasons – one, because I have some catching up to do review-wise, and two, I actually have a lot to say about all three movies I will be reviewing this weekend (well, the first two at least – haven’t seen the third one yet).

I’m gonna start this “review weekend” off by discussing the first film of the three I have seen – The Grey, starring Liam Neeson.

Review – Drive [2011]

With FORCED PERSPECTIVE in the middle of its bye-week, I figured I would (finally) bring back my movie reviews with a film that has become one of my favorite films of the year – Drive. Directed by the great Nicholas Winding Refn, and starring Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Albert Brooks, Ron Perlman, Bryan Cranston, and Christina Hendricks, click on the link below to learn why anyone calling themselves a fan of film is hereby MANDATED to see this…and listen to some kick-ass sync-pop!
