Review – The Avengers (2012)

With Adolfo being swamped at work for the week, he actually wrote me up and asked if I still wanted to do my Avengers review, like I suggested in the latest episode of FORCED PERSPECTIVE. Having realized that I still haven’t been able to get to my promised-review for The Five Year Engagement, I said, “sure, why not.” And, alas, here I am.

Haven’t seen The Avengers yet? Want the scoop on the biggest film of the year (so far)? Then look no further as I, SportsGuy515, give you the full Avengers-experience in this review. Featuring a star-studded cast which includes Robert Downey, Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as The Incredible Hulk, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, directed by Joss Whedon, this is The Avengers.

The Epitome of Randomness #6 – OSCAR PREVIEW Edition

All of the ripped ticket stubs – all of money spent on concessions – all of my movie reviews – have lead up to THIS – the one night that recognizes the best in film of the past year – the Academy Awards.

As I did last year (in my “Epitome of Randomness” section of Issue #9 of The Wide World of Sports-Entertainment), I will be previewing tomorrow night’s (or tonight’s, depending on what time you’re reading this) ceremony by breaking down the 6 major awards categories (Best Picture, Best Director, and the 4 Acting Awards) and giving my predictions for each one. Do I expect the Academy to throw a few swerves this year? Possibly – in a couple of categories – but for more on that, all you have to do is sit back, relax, and click on the link below to check out my OFFICIAL OSCAR PREVIEW.

Review – The Kids Are All Right [2010]

Another Golden Globe nominated film will compose my next review – snagging 4 nominations in the categories of Best Picture (Musical/Comedy), 2 nominations for Best Actress (Musical/Comedy) for Annette Benning and Julianne Moore, respectively, and Best Screenplay. Being the first indie film I review for this site, how will it compare to the blockbuster multiplex fare that I normally review? Click the link, my friend, and find out!
