All of the ripped ticket stubs – all of money spent on concessions – all of my movie reviews – have lead up to THIS – the one night that recognizes the best in film of the past year – the Academy Awards.
As I did last year (in my “Epitome of Randomness” section of Issue #9 of The Wide World of Sports-Entertainment), I will be previewing tomorrow night’s (or tonight’s, depending on what time you’re reading this) ceremony by breaking down the 6 major awards categories (Best Picture, Best Director, and the 4 Acting Awards) and giving my predictions for each one. Do I expect the Academy to throw a few swerves this year? Possibly – in a couple of categories – but for more on that, all you have to do is sit back, relax, and click on the link below to check out my OFFICIAL OSCAR PREVIEW.
My final movie review of the day (and my last one until Friday) begins my series of reviews on films that JUST didn’t make the cut for Best Picture at the Oscars this year, but did manage to find a saving grace in being nominated in one of the acting categories (The Town actually falls into this category – luckily I was able to review the film in December, check it out HERE). To begin this series (or continue – however you want to look at it), I’ll be reviewing Blue Valentine, starring Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams.
